Contact UsWhat should I do if my tooth is knocked out?
If one or more of your teeth are dislodged, it’s best to act quickly. Hold the tooth by the crown (not the root), gently rinse it with water if dirty, and try to place it back in the socket. If that’s not possible, store it in milk or saliva and get to our office immediately—ideally within 30 minutes. The sooner we see you, the better the chances of saving the tooth. We also recommend giving us a call to let us know you are on your way so we can be ready to assist as quickly as possible.
What should I do if my tooth is chipped or fractured?
If you chip or fracture a tooth, rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Avoid chewing on that side and contact our office as soon as you can. Even small chips can lead to bigger issues if left untreated. Depending on the severity, we may recommend bonding, a filling, or a crown to restore the tooth and protect it from further damage.
Will my dental insurance cover emergency dental services?
Many dental insurance plans do offer coverage for emergency dental care, but the specifics can vary based on your provider and policy. Some plans cover exams, X-rays, and urgent treatments like fillings or extractions. It’s best to contact your insurance company directly to verify your benefits. We also accept CareCredit™ payment plans, which can work well for covering unexpected costs, and members of our in-house membership plan have one yearly emergency dentist visit included in their benefits.
Whether you’re in the heart of downtown Seattle or in a nearby area like Belltown, Capitol Hill, or Cherry Hill, we’d be glad to assist when you need our team the most. Give us a call today!
